The Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee / Comite Cultural Mexicano de Cicero is a non- profit community organization founded in 2006 by longtime Cicero resident and former Illinois State Representative, Frank J. Aguilar, Cicero resident David Vallejo, and support co-founder, former educator, publisher & editor of MAS Magazine, Maria Eugenia Ayala (Maru). The Town of Cicero is one of the largest Mexican American communities in the Midwestern United States with a population of over 90,000+ residents.
Our organizational structure and cultural civic events has played a significant role in the economic, cultural, and social fabric of our community. Our mission has been effective by building solid bridges between businesses, government, educational institutions and public service organizations with our residents. The core element of our mission involves the organization’s purpose to organize and execute the community’s major Mexican events in the Town of Cicero. The CMCC is 100% volunteer driven, and has earned the respect of many communities surrounding the Chicagoland Area.
The CMCC has hosted and sponsored many renown Mexican artists, authors, and music composers with our educational local partners. We also serve as an extension support for many other Mexican organizations, and federations that represent Mexican states in the Midwest, including the Office of the Consulate General of Mexico in providing services to Mexican citizens that reside in the Town of Cicero.
